Our deepest sympathies to Elaine, the family and friends. I served with Gateson in the Louisiana National Guard. Gateson was my first squad leader when I joined the Guard in August 1954. I learned a lot for Gateson. He also taught me the fundamentals of rifle marksmanship. His teaching me how to be a good Soldier helped me to build a good military foundation and eventually be promoted to the Rank of Colonel. Gateson was a professional Soldier and cared for the men under his command. Gateson thanks for all you did form me and the others who served under you and thanks for your service to our great Country.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Segura, but after speaking to one of his fellow soldiers in Co. G, 156th Infantry, LA National Guard named Harold J. Myers, I know he was highly thought of. All these years later, he is still remembered for how very accurate he was with a rifle and for being a great person. May God bless his family.
