Gary L. Hicks

Delcambre – A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Gary L. Hicks, 66, will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Melancon officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Erath on Monday, May 7, 2012 from 4:00PM until 9:00PM, with a recitation of the rosary by Fr. Bill Melancon at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 8:00AM until the time of service. Interment will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.

A native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and a resident of Delcambre, Mr. Hicks passed away at 3:45PM on Friday, May 4, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Hicks was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who loved spending time with his family and will be greatly missed. Gary was a paint and body man for Bay City Ford for 30 years. Mr. Hicks was an avid sports fan, enjoying all sports.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Diana Suire Hicks of Delcambre; his son Darrin Hicks and his wife Mary of Erath; daughter, Kathy Hebert and her husband Noel of Delcambre; grandchildren Jena Hicks, Austin Hicks, and Dane Thibodeaux of Erath, Cole Hebert and his wife Tess of Kaplan, Ashley Trahan of Duson, and Emily Cassidy of Chicago, Illinois; great grandchild Marlee Hebert of Kaplan; his mother Delores Bowers Hicks of Delcambre; and sisters, Bonnie Viator and her husband Herman, and Sandra Viator.

He was preceded in death by his father, Barney Hicks.

Serving as pallbearers will be Darrin Hicks, Noel Hebert, Austin Hicks, Dane Thibodeaux, Randall Delcambre, Joey Hebert and Brett Hebert.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Bradley Gary, Glen Moore, and Jacob Armentor.

David Funeral Home of Erath, 209 E. Putnam Street, (337) 937-0405 are handling the arrangements.
