Rachel Prince Naquin

Lydia – Funeral Services for Mrs. Leroy Naquin the former Rachel Prince, 82, will be held at 1:00PM on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Calvary Pentecostal Church with Rev. A.L. Lyle officiating. Visitation will be at Calvary Pentecostal Church on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from 3:00PM until 9:00PM. Visitation will resume on Thursday, May 3, 2012 from 9:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

A native of Weeks Island and a resident of Lydia Mrs. Naquin died at 9:50AM on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at a local nursing home. She was a faithful member of Calvary Pentecostal Church. She also enjoyed reading her Bible, crocheting, sewing, and being with family and friends.

She is survived by a daughter, Lisa Naquin Derise and her husband Derwood of Lydia; a son, Neal Naquin and his wife Jacqulin of Youngsville; three brothers, Aaron Prince, Sr. and his wife Beverly “Pat” of Lydia, Roger Dale Prince, Sr. and his wife Jeanet of Lydia, and Lyman Prince, Jr. and his wife Linda of New Iberia; a sister, Rosa Mae Landry and her husband Melvin “Pete” of Lydia; five grandchildren, Blake Derise, Joshua Naquin, Tayasha Naquin, Destine Naquin, and Makayla Naquin; two great grandchildren, Payton Champagne and Landen Naquin; a brother-in-law, Donnell Naquin and his wife Eleanor; three sister-in-laws, Lois Lester and her husband Harry “Les”, Geraldine Naquin, and Wilda Naquin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Naquin; her parents, Lyman Prince, Sr. and Ruby Kennedy Prince; and two brothers, James Prince, Sr. and Charles Prince.

Serving as pallbearers will be Joshua Naquin, Blake Derise, Cody Thomley, Roger Prince, Jr.,James "Cookie" Prince, Jr., , and Tommy Landry.

Honorary pallbearers will be Neal Naquin, Derwood Derise, Payton Chamagne and Landen Naquin.

David Funeral Home of Jeanerette at 400 Provost St. (337)276-5151 will be handling the arrangements.
