Erath – A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Augusta Champagne the former Lillian Broussard, 94, will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, April 30, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Melancon officiating. Visitation will at David Funeral Home of Erath on Sunday, April 29, 2012 from 10:00AM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Monday, April 30, 2012 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.

A native and lifelong resident of Erath Mrs. Champagne died at 11:30PM on Friday, April 27, 2012 at Maison de Monde Living Center. She was a former member of the Catholic Daughters; a current member of Our Lady of Lourdes Altar Society; and a member of Erath Town and Country Club. She Enjoyed embroidering and was known for baking the best homemade bread.

She is survived by a son, Francis “Nick” Champagne and his wife Brenda of Coteau; two daughters, Leona Broussard of Youngsville and Lola Romero and her husband Andrew of New Iberia; seven grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Augusta Champagne; her parents, Isaac and Avia Landry Broussard; a son, Audrest Champagne; a brother, Lua Broussard; a sister, Loula Mae Simon; a grandchild, Andrew “Andy” Romero, Jr.; and as great grandchild, Sydni Cambre.

Serving as pallbearers will be Toby Broussard, Heath Champagne, Jason Champagne, Lorne Abshire, Charles Cambre, and Duane Armentor.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be her ten great grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Maison de Monde Living Center, and Heart of Hospice.
